Four Seasons Film Challenge 2007-2008


IFP Phoenix's FOUR SEASONS SHORT FILM CHALLENGE is a year-long competition with winning filmmakers taking home cash, prizes and bragging rights!


ROUND ONE - SUMMER
Can you make a great film in just 48-Hours? 33 teams will undertake the challenge and all are guaranteed to be screened.
Submission deadline: July 15, 2007. Screening: July 26, 2007.
Genres: Comedy, Horror, Drama | Length: 3-minutes
Prizes: Specialty awards, Top 5 move on to the Spring Finals, $300 cash for first place. Round one is sponsored by Collins College

ROUND TWO - FALL
The fall challenge doesn't have the 48-Hour restriction and the genre is open, but films should center on the theme of Buddies. The top films submitted will be screened.
Submission deadline: October 23, 2007 | Screening: Nov 1, 2007 - Harkins Scottsdale 101
Theme: Buddies | Length: 3-minutes
Submission fee: $40 for IFP/PHX members, $60 for non-members
Prizes: Specialty awards, Top 5 move on to the Spring Finals, $300 cash for first place.

ROUND THREE - WINTER
The holidays and the New Year's Resolution brings out something in everyone. Make a three-minute film with that theme-RESOLUTIONS - the genre is up to you.
Submission Deadline: January 28th, 2008 - Early bird Deadline: January 21, 2008
Screening: February 13, 2008 at Harkins Scottsdale 101
Theme: Resolution
Length: 3-minutes
Submission fee: $40 for IFP/PHX members, $60 for non-members. $10 off if submitted by January 21, 2008.
Prizes: Specialty awards (Best actor, director, story, technical elements), Top 5 move on to the Spring Finals, $300 cash for first place.

ROUND FOUR - SPRING
The top 15 films from the SUMMER, FALL and WINTER Challenge (5 from each) will compete in this SPRING FINALS round to determine the FOUR SEASONS FILM CHALLENGE BEST FILM.
The screening will be held at the 2008 Phoenix Film Festival on MONDAY, April 7, 2008. Prizes: Specialty awards and trophies.
First Place winner receives: $1000 cash, one-year IFP/PHX membership, AUTOMATIC SELECTION to the 2009 Phoenix Film Festival, the 2009 Sedona Film Festival, plus more festivals and prizes to be announced.

The Phoenix Film Critics Society picks the BEST FILM and the audience from the April 7 screening picks their AUDIENCE FAVORITE.
