Independent Feature Project of Phoenix, AZ

MOTHERBOARD.TV is a collaboration between VBS.TV and Dell, a technology network dedicated exclusively to the culture surrounding innovation. Instead of approaching technology through clinical nuts and bolts, Motherboard.TV focuses on the ways in which innovation is increasingly woven into contemporary music, art, environmental, and social movements. Today, the Syfy Channel and Motherboard.TV announced The Caprica Screening Series, a unique partnership in celebration of SyFy’s new prime time series Caprica.

The Caprica Screening Series collects and features renown science fiction from past and present in a 3-part event series to be held at PS 122 in Manhattan. Screenings are free to invited guests and include cocktail receptions for each film. The program also has a home online, with simultaneous streaming events on Motherboard.TV

This is where the filmmakers come in -- Additionally, a sci-fi short film contest has been launched alongside the Screening Series. Motherboard.TV is currently accepting short-form sci-fi submissions. Five finalists will be screened on Motherboard.TV, with the winning film to be shown at a Caprica screening event in NYC on 1/22.

The Syfy Channel and NBC will be at the event, so this could be a great way for filmmakers to geek-out with other sci-fi nerds, as well as showcase their creativity.

All entries must be received by December 13th.

I just found out TODAY that apparently our short film "PROBED" was one of the 5 finalists of this contest. Whoah!! Also, the late Brock H. Brown's film, "Sweet Science" was one of the other finalists! TWO of the five finalists were from Phoenix! GO Phoenix filmmakers!
