Can you make a quality 3-5 minute film in just 48 hours? We challenge you to! Join one of up to 40 teams competing in the longest running 48-Hour Film Challenge in Arizona!

What Makes it so Challenging?

As if only 48 hours wasn’t enough of a challenge… we wait to tell you three pieces of critical information at the Kickoff event: a prop, a line of dialog, and a genre.

SAG Contracts

SAG has provided contracts, if you want to use SAG actors in your productions these are perfect for the 48-hour film challenge.

Schedule:

Team Registration Deadline: July 20, 2012

Kickoff: July 20, 2012 5:30pm * @The University of Advancing Technology (UAT)

Films Due: July 22, 2012 (actual time TBD at kickoff)

Screenings: August 10, 2012 6:00pm and 8:00pm. Awards at 10:00pm @ Phoenix Art Museum

Registration Fee $50 for IFP members – $65 for NonMembers

If your team is registered after the 40th team is filled, we will contact you to see if you are interested in our waiting list. The waiting list allows you to participate and claim the spot of any team that does not complete their film at all or on time.

I, the undersigned, have read and understood each provision listed below, and I accept and agree with each of the following provisions:
- Team leaders must be resident of Arizona.
- Films must be made following the use of prop, line of dialog, and genre elements that are set forth during the event kick-off
- Footage included in your film must be shot during the 48 hours of the competition.
- To the best of my knowledge, all of the statements in this document are true.
- This film is not subject to litigation nor is threatened by any litigation.
- I am duly authorized to submit this film to the Challenge, and its Competition and understand that the Foundation holds the right to screen my film for future Foundation screenings and promotional purposes and to extract clips from this film for promotional purposes.
- I understand that the Phoenix Film Foundation (“Foundation” is not responsible for any type of damage to or loss of the print during screenings, at any other time, while the film is in the Foundation’s possession or while en route to or from the Challenge, and I release the Phoenix Film Foundation from any and all liabilities regarding damage to or loss of the print while en route to/from the Challenge or while it is in their possession.
- Should this film win an award, I am authorized and/or empowered by all parties legally representing this film to name the individual(s) listed on the Designation List (to be received upon notice of selection to Foundation) to receive any and all award(s).
- In the event the designated party is unable to attend the awards ceremony, I understand that the director and/or producer of the film as listed in the credits of the film shall accept any and all awards in their stead.
- If selected as a participant in the Challenge, television ready media clips of the film may be requested by the date provided on notice of selection.
- Because of the special nature of the 48 Hour Film Challenge competition, I duly state that I will have all proper permits and permissions, licenses and allowances for all of the elements of the team’s entry, and that the team will not perform anything illegal or immoral to obtain said elements during the production of the film.
- Finished films may not screen publicly or be available to the public online until after the official screening on Aug 10th, 2012.
