Prescott Film Festival – November 2-6, 2011

It’s fall in the Central Arizona Highlands and that means it’s time for the Prescott Film FestivalNovember 2 – 6th the fest will be screening films from 9am to approximately 9pm Wednesday through Sunday at The Elks Theatre and Prescott Center for the Arts!  Over 70 films will be screening and 30 guest filmmakers are scheduled to attend!

Six FREE Workshops

  • Writer’s Panel; Opportunities for Writers in Hollywood featuring writer/director and co-founder of Zaki Gordon Film School Dan Gordon, (Wyatt Earp, Passenger 57, Murder in the First), Alan Dean Foster, (Star Trek the Motion Picture plus books “Star Trek Log” with approximately 114 books published), and writer/director/producer Sam Pillsbury (Quiet Earth, Free Willie 3 and Disney’s Where the Red Fern Grows) (We will be screening The Quiet Earth right after the workshop, and Mr. Pillsbury will do a Q&A after the film!)
  • Clair Sinnett’s Real to Reel Actor’s Workshop; Clair is a former casting director and acting coach who has worked with Keanu Reeves, James Earl Jones, and Loenardo DiCaprio
  • Screen Actors Guild; Who? What? Why? Workshop! With SAG’s Executive Director for Arizona Don Livesay
  • How to Turn a Book into a Film with Lorette Bayle and her film The Bake Shop Ghost (Presented by the Friends of the Prescott Public Library and the Prescott Public Library
  • Lights, Camera, Memoir! With documentary filmmaker Jilann Spitzmiller
  • The Director’s Cut; a Discussion with Dan Gordon; Mr. Gordon will be discussing the differences between the producer’s or studio’s cut of a film and the Director’s Cut.  He will then screen the Director’s Cut of one of his own films with a Q&A to follow.

FREE day of children’s films at the Prescott Public Library all day Saturday; Independent Films for Independent Kids!
