VerticalBlu Casting Call This Friday & Saturday

Open public auditions are being held for the short film “In Distant Shadows” being produced by VerticalBlu Film company, directed by IFP Phoenix member Daniel Gourley.  The film is being produced for the IFP Phoenix Breakout Film Challenge.

Open Public Auditions: 9/23 @7:00PM & 9/24 @ 10:30AM

Scheduled Callbacks: 9/24 @ 1:00PM (Callbacks will be determined and scheduled after a public audition is performed.)

Casting will be held at Pure Heart Christian Fellowship.

Film Synopsis

In Distant Shadows is a film that explores the belief that the world around us is merely the surface of something deeper. What we can’t see is just as real as what is seen. It is more important than ever to know where you stand.

Characters being auditioned are as follows:

  • Callie Barker – Women in Mid 20′s – Small Town Reporter – Callie finds herself neck deep in a mystery clothed in darkness.
  • Luca Mattix – Man in late 20′s to early 30′s – Owner of newspaper – Luca is very perceptive in situations despite having been born blind.
  • Mason Brewer – Man in his 30′s – Pastor – Mason is a man struggling to rediscover his morals and motives despite the overwhelming situations that surround him.
  • Vivian Coffey – Women in her 50′s – Town Mayer of Allistair – Vivian strives to control the town and its inhabitants to further her personal agenda.
  • Russel Ford – Man in his 50′s – Chief of Police – Russell seeks to protect and earn the respect of his town. Generally a wary individual with a good moral compass.
  • Amelia Lane – Woman in her 20′s – Pastor’s Secretary – Amelia seeks opportunity as it presents itself with a sharp eye and a strong aptitude for compromising her morals in the process.
  • Cole – Man in his late 20′s to early 30′s – Unknown – Cole’s very presence seems to aggravate the small town of Allistair. His dress & demeanor mask a strong ability to observe and change the world around him.
