What Does a Director Do?

This sure is the loaded question isn’t it?  A big misconception is that the director simply says, “Ok, walk in from over there, and play the scene really angry!” and your scene turns into magic.  It couldn’t be farther from the truth.  From developing your creative vision, planning, collaborating, relationship building, and inspiring great performance from your actors.  These are just a few examples of the real responsibilities a director has.

Dates: Saturday, October 1, 2011

Time: 1:00pm – 5pm

Location: Collins College 14th Street Studio Theater,  1425 W 14th Street, Tempe, Arizona. 

Cost: FREE – IFP Phoenix Members, Breakout Directors, Collins College Students (Pre-registration required).   $50 – Everyone else

* Note: ALL Walk-Ins will be charged $15 additional.  Please pre-register to avoid the walk-in fee.

** IFP Phoenix Members are required to show their membership card for attendance on the day of the event.  Collins College student s must show their current student ID.

About Webb Pickersgill
