The Taos Shortz Film Fest continues to bring world class cinema to the Taos, New Mexico community and beyond.  To provide filmmakers with a venue to showcase their work, participate in workshops, panels, and network with fellow filmmakers, media companies, producers and distributors.

About the Festival

Taos Shortz Film Festival is rapidly becoming an internationally known film festival.  Because of our growing reputation, we are proud to announce that we have been selected to host the 48 Hour Film Project International Filmapalooza taking place on March 1st -4th  2012.   Through this new partnership Taos will host hundreds of filmmakers from around the world, including cities such as Rome, Paris, Bejiing, Hong Kong, and Brisbane.  With the continued growth and success of the Taos Shortz Film Fest we have expanded in both number of days and venues.  The Taos Center for the Arts will be the predominent film venue and the Harwood Museum of Art will feature Filmapalooza’s unique format of short films.  Our festival will culminate Sunday, March 4th in two separate Awards Ceremonies at the TCA.

Over 100 filmmakers and special guests from numerous cities in the US and abroad will join our film  community  to participate in screening films,  panel discussions, networking parties  and social gatherings. 

Submission Details

Films can be submitted August through December via the Taos Shortz website, with the festival being operated in March of the following year.
