Nathan Blackwell on Web Series Writing
Coming June 23, 2011 to the Screenwriters Group Meeting
Web series are the newest form of narrative short filmmaking. As an emerging new style of storytelling, there are still many unknowns about what works, what doesn’t. Our Screenwriting Group has a fantastic speaker this month, Nathan Blackwell who has been in the forefront of making Web Series! If you’ve ever thought about writing your own series, learn from someone who has DONE IT, and survived to tell us about it.
About Nathan Blackwell
Nathan Blackwell has directed over forty short films, two low budget feature films, written seven feature film screenplays, and won over twenty-three awards for filmmaking. Last year he was nominated for the Phoenix New Times Big Brain Award in Film & Video, and his screenplay The Transgalactic Zoo was one of ten finalists in Final Draft’s Big Break Screenwriting Competition. Currently he is writing and directing two comedy web series Voyage Trekkers and Normally This Weird.
His stories are populated with such unusual characters as ninjas, gentleman super spies, cross dressers, rectal-probing aliens, fortune tellers, face-melting nazis, suburban mad scientists, melodramatic role-playing nerds, magic-casting teenagers, and of course zombies.
